I appreciate industrial designers a lot, especially those who innovate, who bring on the market something that’s outrageously awesome and which takes it to the next level, creating a landmark for young designers to guide on and to try to overcome. From simple items to complicated ones, they are designing new products that fascinate us and are meant to help us and make our life easier and more practical in the near or, let’s hope not, far future. Rubik’s lamp

Rubik’s lamp is an innovative project based on the popular toy from the eighties. Much like the original Rubik’s cube, the lamp is composed of 26 smaller cube-like pieces, whose interlocking shapes fit onto each other.
The rotation of each face of the main cube allows the arrangement of up to forty-three quintillion different combinations, each one providing different lighting. Colored patterns and chaotic, kaleidoscopic lighting can be created by not leaving the main rows parallel to each other.

Outdoor furniture usually follow a limited number of existing conventions. The Terrace Chair is an attempt to go outside the rules or define a new convention: While being instantly recognizable, it looks somewhat different from what you would expect to find at your home & garden center.
The bulk of the chair is rotation molded in polyethylene with a base of stainless steel. It is quite low-tech and requires little maintenance – just leave it out all year and give it a wash now and then. But when it is time to party, connect a low voltage cable to the bottom of the base and the chair will glow invitingly in the dark and provide ambience to the scene.
The body of the chair is only slightly elastic but it has a soft embracing feel due to the rounded, organic shape. The chair is easily disassembled into clearly marked elements according to the cradle-to-cradle principle.

The cabinet is made from ¾” ULDF and finished with conversion varnish. The drawers are 9 ply ½” maple plywood, dovetailed and finished with clear catalyzed lacquer. All cabinet and drawer components are cut, drilled and dadoed on a CNC table router. Assembled with a combination of screws, pins, staples, glue, and Pacific Northwest fresh air.

Incredible Living Room Interior Design Ideas

The living room, also known as sitting room, lounge room or lounge (in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand), is a room for entertaining adult guests, reading, or other activities and it must be spacious, well designed, with well balanced colors and also has to have style. And this style comes in various shapes, from the modernist one which tries to be more and more minimalistic, but uses furniture with contrasting colors in the room to the traditional interior designs which give the feeling of room crowding.
Most of the examples presented below are modern but I left at the end a few living rooms designed with a traditional decor and furniture. I would be glad if I helped you in your decision to decorating the living room by showing you these examples.

F-BOMB spy machine is made from $50 in off-the-shelf computer parts

The military may spend billions on research and development, but not all spy technology needs to be specialized or expensive. By adding flash memory, antennas, and some plastic casing to a PogoPlug mini computer, security researcher Brendan O’Connor has created a tiny computer capable of being dropped out of a drone, thrown over a wall, or abandoned in the field without compromising security or incurring a loss of anything but $46 worth of parts. The Linux-based F-BOMB, or Falling or Ballistically-launched Object that Makes Backdoors, is designed to be highly configurable, capable of connecting to anything from a barometer to a GPS. It runs on AA batteries, and any data that's collected — like a record of security vulnerabilities — can be sent back over a Wi-Fi network.
While it's being presented at hacker convention ShmooCon today and looks like it could put together in a garage, the F-BOMB was actually funded by DARPA's Cyber Fast Track program for inventors. O'Connor says its low cost could let agencies hide large numbers of the computers without worrying about having to recover them, and the lack of custom parts would make them difficult to trace. Only a little bigger than a deck of playing cards, the F-BOMB can also be hidden almost anywhere. The computers may be slated for military use, but we wouldn't be surprised if similar devices started turning up in all sorts of places.

Change It! Wall

This wall has been passed around on the internet for some time and has become a neat attraction. It’s not LED or anything digital, it’s actually made of turning triangles with different colors on them, white, black and a rainbow color. It is limited at these three options for now, but I’m sure we’ll see in the future various patterns and images.

This is an interesting concept created by Seo Dong-Hun that allows you to create on the ceiling the light shapes you want. Literally, you can paint the ceiling with light. Imagine the artworks that would result from some people’s imagination.

LULA is a product that collects data and indicates the air quality in your room. If it’s connected to the internet, it can process the data and tell you the health issues that you are facing in that situation and how you can avoid having problems caused by the quality of air.

WAT Lamp

The WAT lamp has the interesting ability to generate light if you fuel it with water. Yeah, it sounds outrageously futuristic, but the system is actually not that strange. The water combines with a hydroelectric battery to generate an electrochemical reaction that lights it up.

A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Vietnam. He called his parents from San Francisco.

"Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've a favor to ask. I have a friend I'd like to bring home with me."

"Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him."

"There's something you should know the son continued, "he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mind and lost an arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with us."

"I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live."

"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us."

"Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking. Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we can't let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."

At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing more from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from the San Francisco police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they were told. The police believed it was suicide. The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. They recognized him, but to their horror they also discovered something they didn't know, their son had only one arm and one leg.

The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don't like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We would rather stay away from people who aren't as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are. Thankfully, there's someone who won't treat us that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are.
